Melanie Abrajano serves as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Turning Point Public Affairs, bringing 20 years of experience running high-profile political campaigns and serving in top executive positions for some of America's largest trade associations. In addition to providing political and government affairs expertise for Turning Point's clients, Melanie is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the Missouri Club for Growth (MOCFG) and managing the Club's political action committee. During recent primary elections, Melanie directed MOCFG's successful independent expenditure campaigns in the top-targeted state senate races. During the 2014 general election cycle, Melanie's leadership led the Missouri Club for Growth PAC to a 95% win record in endorsed races for the state House and Senate, and a 14 point victory for the statewide ballot initiative in support of Constitutional Amendment 10. During the 2008 Presidential election cycle, Melanie served as the Political Director for the McCain-Palin campaign in Missouri, leading a team of campaign professionals and helping secure the presidential campaign's only victory in a targeted state. |
Prior to her work with the McCain-Palin Campaign, Melanie traveled extensively throughout the Midwest as a regional executive with several trade associations. Her previous positions include Midwest Field Director for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association; Executive Director of Congressional and Public Affairs - Great Lakes Region of the United States Chamber of Commerce; and Regional Political Director at Associated Builders and Contractors, a field position she was promoted to while working in the group's Washington D.C. office.
Melanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Political Communications from Ohio University.
